Hybla Valley Elementary School (HVES) - A Title 1 school that serves a diverse population in Alexandria, Virginia. Currently, 91% of their students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The English proficiency rate is only 35%, with 65% of students considered English learners. The Northern Virginia Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi (NVAC) is working closely with the school’s administration and literacy teams to make a significant difference in the lives of their students. NVAC and The Arrow Foundation have committed to give monetary funds to HVES to support new and innovative literacy initiatives that otherwise would be impossible.
